About Me

When You Inherit an Estate

Hello, my name is Jacob Langston. My father passed away two years ago, and I inherited his entire estate. Dad was a great guy, but he sure did have a lot of stuff. He lived in a large home, and I honestly don’t think he changed a thing since my mother died twelve years before him. I couldn't afford to keep the house, so selling it was one of the first things I had to take care of. I was at a loss for what to do with all the belongings inside. I had to start moving things out in order to get the house ready to sell. Once it sold, I had to move the rest out. I hired a moving and storage company to help with this daunting task, and am I glad I did. Stay tuned as I share this adventure with you!

4 Important Reasons To Choose Professional Movers For Your Relocation

by Stacy Robertson

Are you planning on moving? If so, you are likely not as calm as you would like to be. It is normal for relocation plans to evoke anxiety or other uncomfortable feelings. Perhaps you are planning on packing and moving your own belongings. You may have even enlisted the help of friends and family. Some individuals like you choose this option because they think that it can save them time and money. DIY moving is more complex than it seems on the surface. The following points highlight a few advantages of hiring professional movers for your move.

Equipment and Experience

Movers have access to all of the equipment needed for a safe and efficient move. They have equipment such as dollies to aid in safely moving heavy items. They also have personal protective equipment such as back braces and gloves. These are items that you, your friends, and your family members might not have access to.

Professional movers are trained to keep safety first. They will know how to use the correct body mechanics to perform the move. Your friends or family members could get injured helping you.

Materials

The materials for a DIY move will likely cost you money. These are provided by a moving company and included with the cost of your move. There is also a risk of not choosing the correct types of boxes and packing materials if you do your own relocation. This can result in damaged items. Movers are trained to know how to pack items. They'll also know the importance of properly labeling boxes.

Protected by Insurance

Professional movers are unlikely to damage your belongings due to their experience. However, if they did, the damage would be covered by their liability insurance. If you make an error during a DIY move, your losses will be your own to cover.

Cost Efficient

The notion that a DIY relocation will save money is a little misleading. There are chances that someone will get injured, which means medical bills. Damaged items such as electronics are something to think about. The cost of materials and equipment also needs to be factored in. Fuel costs and the number of trips it will take to complete the move are also important to note. In the end, you are likely to discover that professional movers could have saved you time and money.
